James Vernon

Partner

James joined Beale & Co in 2003, qualifying in 2005, and is a Partner in the Construction and Engineering group and the Insurance/Professional Negligence group. James is admitted to practice in England and Wales and in Ireland.

During his time at Beale & Co, James has acted for engineers, architects, contractors, solicitors, accountants, surveyors, approved building inspectors and their professional indemnity insurers, in relation to a wide range of contentious matters. These have ranged from small fee claims to high value, multiparty construction and engineering actions in the UK, Ireland and overseas and have included subrogated recovery actions.

James has experience in dealing with proceedings listed before the High Court (including the TCC), Court of Appeal, House of Lords and the Privy Council as well as pre-action disputes, Mediation, Adjudication and Arbitration.

James has also advised on contractual matters during a project and has experience of advising insureds and insurers of their responsibilities and potential risks under minimum wording requirements of industry regulatory bodies. James gives seminars and workshops on a number of topics of interest to professional bodies in the construction and engineering industry.

James is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association.
